COLD, NOT SNOW THE MAIN STORY THIS WEEK

A shot of snow is still in the cards for tomorrow night into Wednesday morning, but amounts will only range from a dusting to an inch at most. A southern storm will only brush the region during this time frame.

The main story this week will be the cold: It now appears that Thursday night into Friday, as well as Saturday night into Sunday will be the coldest parts of the week.

WPC: Temps for 7am Friday

Teens and single digit readings are likely during this period (at night), with highs Friday and Sunday staying in the low-to-mid 20s.

Storm chances will only gradually increase through the period from now through late this week. On Saturday, a shot of light snow is possible. After this, a more potent storm will come close on Monday. The stormy pattern that develops late week should last into at least March 15th.

With plenty of cold air to tap, we can expect the threats of disruptive wintry weather to linger well into the month.
