TRANQUILITY REIGNS AS WE HEAD INTO OCTOBER

1. Today: A northeasterly wind means that conditions will be somewhat cool, but pleasant overall. Some Stratocumulus clouds can make it in at times during the day, but things will clear out by nightfall.

2. Saturday-Sunday: Quiet, with less cloud cover overall in the afternoon. Temps near normal levels for this time of year.

3. Monday: Offshore storm brushes the region. Over far eastern sections of Long Island and Connecticut, showers can pop up during the day. A bit breezy for all areas, but winds should stay below 25mph. Minor beach erosion possible. High waves are likely at the shore, but no coastal flooding is expected at this time.

4.  Tuesday-Thursday: Clouds dissipate, and temps start to rise. Upper 70s a good bet to open October.

5. Tropical Season a dud so far. This continues the overall trend of LOWER overall tropical activity since 2005  in the Atlantic Basin.
