ANOTHER SPRINGTIME SOAKING FOR LATE MONDAY INTO TUESDAY MORNING
1. After a nice weekend, clouds build in again in advance of the next storm. Rain arrives late in the day and becomes heavy at times tomorrow night. Good potential for amounts to be near and over 1 inch (storm total rainfall) with the presence of Gulf of Mexico moisture getting injected into the storm.
2. Bulk of the rain moves out Tuesday morning. However, the atmosphere will remain generally unstable through Wednesday. Stray afternoon showers can pop up both days, but no widespread rainfall for Tuesday and Wednesday. Windy conditions for Tuesday and again Wednesday.
3. Temps on Tuesday could end up quite warm for NYC and points west, where readings may climb into the upper 60s. Near bodies of water, temps will remain in the 50s. High temps should peak earlier than usual on Tuesday, with warmest readings likely occurring just before midday, then retreating throughout the afternoon.
4. After a very mild day Tuesday, temps return to near normal for Wednesday through the end of the week. Some light rain is possible on Friday morning with a weak cold front crossing through our region. Weekend looks dry with temps in the 50s.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL

1. After today's warm, sunny day, skies will cloud over towards Wednesday morning. A weak front will cross the area tomorrow afternoon with only a slight chance of light rain in early afternoon. Skies clear tomorrow night.
2. A few showers are possible on Thursday and Thursday night, especially west of NYC. The front the crosses our region Wednesday remains to our south during this time, but close enough to warrant a risk for showers. Mild Thursday; high clouds mixed with sun.

3. Next chance of significant, widespread rainfall for the entire area looks to arrive Friday afternoon into early Saturday morning before clearing. Amounts may reach 1/2-1 inch. A few thunderstorms possible as well. Temps on Friday will take a chilly dive back into the 40s. Raw and windy conditions Friday

4. Saturday through Monday looks mainly dry and spring-like. A major storm should develop next week and make its closest approach to our region by Tuesday or Wednesday. Potential for heavy rain during this time frame. Bears close watch.

SEASONABLE TEMPS RETURN BEGINNING THURSDAY THROUGH MUCH OF NEXT WEEK.
1. After a dry, cold day Tuesday, light snow will develop and overspread the region at night. Light accumulations likely area-wide of a dusting to locally two inches. Best shot at 3 inch plus amounts will be confined to the Twin Forks and eastern Connecticut.
2. Windy and cold Wednesday, with temps in the 30s. Wind-chill values will stay in the 20s all day. Temps start to climb to near seasonable levels (40s) by Thursday, with dry conditions.
3. Friday: Frontal boundary moves through with showers late in the day and at night. Temps warm ahead of the front to near 60, but cloud cover will dominate the day.
4. Said front works to our south Saturday. Uncertainty grows for this time frame as to whether a coastal storm (with rain) comes close enough to our region for Saturday afternoon and night. Update will be needed.

INTENSE COASTAL STORM WILL BRUSH THE REGION TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING.
So far, the model guidance has held serve over the weekend in depicting the brunt of a dangerous coastal storm tracking to our south and east for Tuesday night into Wednesday. However, a complete miss at this point is not in the cards at this time; places from NYC and points south and east still stand a good chance to see several inches of snow.
Although the likelihood of an all-out blizzard is still quite low, the possibility needs to be carefully watched due to the very intense nature of the storm as it makes its closest approach Wednesday morning.
A warm-up looks likely for this weekend into early next week.
