STUBBORN COASTAL STORM ALREADY BEGINNING TO WANE....

The various forecast models have handled the evolution of the season's first nor'easter very poorly, as the bulk of the rainfall has been stationary over the central Mid-Atlantic states all day today...

A large dome of high pressure has kept the column of air dry enough in the mid levels of the atmosphere, so that precip could not break out and become heavy as was expected. This trend should persist through Saturday morning, leaving the area with far less in the way of rainfall amounts

The rate of rainfall should be light to occasionally moderate through Saturday morning, before the threat of rain diminishes by saturday afternoon. In fact, although it will be somewhat cloudy, the area should be virtually rain-free the entire weekend.
